KSL Designs

Arts

KSL Designs offers avid quilters the unique opportunity to get lost in your next quilting project in one of the Cariboo’s great historic locations.

Retreats:

KSL Designs proudly hosts annual quilting retreats at various times throughout the year. Quilting retreats give quilters of all skill levels a chance to get away for a few days and concentrate on a quilting project while networking with other quilters. KSL Designs offers three quilting retreat weekends in historic Barkerville during the months of May and June. Participation is limited in order to provide a high-quality experience. Participants may bring their own projects to work on or choose to begin a new one. Participants benefit from learning from other participants in a fun, collaborative and informal environment. KSL Designs is also looking to add a new quilting retreat in February in the town of Wells.

Studio:

KSL Designs operates a year-round quilting studio in the town of Wells. Here, quilters can drop in three days per week to work on their quilting projects. KSL Designs offers access to equipment and tools as well as supplies for sale. Inventory includes fabric, quilting and needlework supplies, threads, patterns and finished quilts and quilted projects.

Meet Kathleen Landry

Meet Kathleen Landry

Kathleen Landry grew up in the Wells/Barkerville area. After a few years' absence, she returned to her roots and his lived in Wells for the last 20 years. Kathleen is proud of her small, rural community of Wells which, she says, is one whose residents are extraordinarily committed to each other and their town. "Everyone makes the community better in their own way," she says. Indeed, when there are fewer people, the actions and efforts of a single person can make a much bigger difference. Kathleen points to all of the amazing events that the people of Wells support and pull off regularly, which routinely bring in visitors from all over BC and even other parts of Canada. It is a testament to the hard work and commitment of the people who live here.

Kathleen has been an avid quilter for many years, so starting her own quilting business was a natural venture. There are many things that Kathleen appreciates about owning and operating a small business. She especially likes having the freedom to tailor the business in ways that best suit the community and its needs. She also enjoys being able to earn an income while doing something that she loves.
